D.I.Y. Oversized Floral Headcrown

What you will need-
  • Headband
  • Artificial flowers in whatever colour and type of flower you wish
  • Flexible wire
  • Raffia
  • Scissors
  • Super glue

Step 1- Cut the flower you want from the stem right at the top and if your artificial stem had wire inside of it try not to cut the wire just cut the green stem from around the wire and then leave the wire long so that it comes out of the stem like in the second photo here.

Step 2- Using the wire from the stem and possibly extra from the extra flexible wire wrap the wire around the headband in a cross and do this a few times until the flower head is secure.

Step 3- Repeat step 2 with the other flower heads, I put the largest flower in the centre and then two slightly smaller flower heads on either side of the largest one.

This is what the headband looks like so far with 3 flowers on it.

I then added two much smaller flower heads which looked more like rose buds on either end, so on my headband there are 5 flower heads in total. You can add more or less if you want depending on your flowers and the style of headcrown you want. I wanted mine to be oversized and slightly OTT which it is, but if you want something a bit more subtle maybe use smaller or less flower heads.

Step 4- From the leftover stems cut a few leaves off and glue them on to the sides of the flowers. This adds a bit of extra colour and makes the flowers look more realistic.

Step 5- As there may be wire sticking out from the headband, next take strips of the raffia and wrap them around the headband, through the flowers and over the wires until no more wires can be seen and the headband is smooth.

Aaaaand voilĂ  there you have it! This is what my one looks like on and this is me wearing it at glasto :)

Gothic Floral

(Dress- ASOS, sandals- Topshop, rucksack- Topshop, leather jacket- Primark)
Here is my new dress I love the print, the fabric and the back of it with the thin straps in a triangle. However as it's from ASOS it means it is massive, I got it in the smallest size it comes in and it still is too big for me and falls below my bra at the front and is super long at the front, so it may need some adjustments but it's totally worth it such a pretty dress!

The Other Skort

(Kimono- Topshop, vest top- H&M, skort- Sheinside, sandals- Primark, rucksack- Topshop)
So a few posts ago I showed my white skort and I couldn't decide between the two colours, so I also bought it in black too and this is the black version. Love it it's so easy to wear in this weather and looks good for work and for play!

Day 2

(T-shirt- Vintage, long black chiffon dungaree/ jumpsuit/ all in one thing- Sheinside, AJ boots- Topshop)

Second day outfit for training for the stylist job. A bit more casual and laid back but I think it's still quite cool and stylish. Love this long dungaree thingy I am not sure what the correct term for it is but I haven't stopped wearing it since I got it! It's sooo comfortable and is an easy outfit when you want to look good but like your not trying too hard. Goes best with white and black tops, but I think it would also look good with really brightly coloured tops and maybe crop tops and bandeau bralets too, as it goes really low at the sides so on a hot day I think it would look cool with a bit of skin showing!

Thought these bad boys had sold out everywhere and I thought I would have to wait for someone in my size to sell them on Ebay shlong... Theeeeen I found them in the Oxford Circus Topshop in my size!!! I had to beg, borrow and steal to get them, as they are a bit costly (£95 or £85.50 student discount) but I am sooo fricking happy with them, I love them and I completely understand how they sold out instantly. Also Topshop said they will not be doing them again so hopefully not that many people will have them either. They are crazy comfortable, with and without socks and they go with everything. Soo excited to wear the crap out of these babies :D

P.S. Thanks Jo x

Day 1

(Neon yellow sleeveless shirt- H&M, black wet-look jeans- Topshop, studded toe boots- Topshop, bag- H&M, neon & gold triangle necklace- New Look)

I might be starting a new job as a stylist and so this week I have been doing trial/ training days for it and this was my first day outfit. I wanted to get a good balance of professional, fashionable and comfortable and I think this did the job! Also my neon yellow shirt matched my nails which I think was a good touch.

Sunny Skort!

(Leather look top- Primark, white skort- Sheinside, studded gladiator sandals- Primark, triangle neon colar necklace & round sunglasses- New Look, brown camera bag- Promod)

I got a job a few weeks ago so I thought to reward myself I would do some online shopping and that is where I discovered the skort. The skort is a pair of shorts which have the deceiving look of being a skirt when they are infact shorts. So it looks like I am wearing a really short skirt but in fact I am wearing a good length short! I love the skort so much I actually bought it in white and black because I couldn't decide which colour I liked more! I will post an outfit with the black version soon. I also bought both colours as the site which I got them off- is very reasonable priced and as it was my first time buying from there so I got 15% off my order for registering and free delivery too amazing! They are very good summer bottoms if the sun ever does decide to come back again :S

Also these are my new sunnies and necklace both from New Look. I really needed new sunglasses and I wanted round ones and Topshop were selling pretty much the same ones for triple the price of these New Look ones, which I think are pretty cool and they are round, which is what I wanted as round sunnies are the shape of this summer!

Rock 'n' Rose

I am in love with this Rock n Rose 'Beatrice Oversized Floral Crown Headband' sooooo much! I absolutely need it in my life to wear not only to Glastonbury, but all the time in my general day to day life, I don't care if I look like an over the top hippy I reckon being the daughter of a florist I just might be able to get away with it maybe... It is however £38 which is slightly out of my price range for a headband atm, as I still do not have a confirmed job for the summer. So I either have to wait for a beautiful admirer to buy it for me, oooor make one myself :S not really sure how yet but I reckon I could rumble something up!
