- Artificial flowers in whatever colour and type of flower you wish
- Flexible wire
- Super glue
Step 1- Cut the flower you want from the stem right at the top and if your artificial stem had wire inside of it try not to cut the wire just cut the green stem from around the wire and then leave the wire long so that it comes out of the stem like in the second photo here.
Step 2- Using the wire from the stem and possibly extra from the extra flexible wire wrap the wire around the headband in a cross and do this a few times until the flower head is secure.
Step 3- Repeat step 2 with the other flower heads, I put the largest flower in the centre and then two slightly smaller flower heads on either side of the largest one.
This is what the headband looks like so far with 3 flowers on it.
I then added two much smaller flower heads which looked more like rose buds on either end, so on my headband there are 5 flower heads in total. You can add more or less if you want depending on your flowers and the style of headcrown you want. I wanted mine to be oversized and slightly OTT which it is, but if you want something a bit more subtle maybe use smaller or less flower heads.
Step 4- From the leftover stems cut a few leaves off and glue them on to the sides of the flowers. This adds a bit of extra colour and makes the flowers look more realistic.
Step 5- As there may be wire sticking out from the headband, next take strips of the raffia and wrap them around the headband, through the flowers and over the wires until no more wires can be seen and the headband is smooth.
Aaaaand voilà there you have it! This is what my one looks like on and this is me wearing it at glasto :)
